Hezekiah's Tunnel

Today we went on a short field trip to the City of David. Hezekiah's Tunnel was dug underneath the city around 700 BC during King Hezekiah's reign over Judah. Incredibly the tunnel has survived this long and we were able to trek through it! The tunnel leads from the Gihon Spring to the Pool of Siloam and water still runs through it. During the Assyrian siege around 722 BC the tunnel provided water to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Liddy sloshing along

Maybe too excited.
